Driving streaming perk discovery through content

Verizon offers streaming subscriptions—including Disney+, Netflix, and other partner services—as perks through its wireless plans, but attachment rates were largely stagnant. This created an opportunity to drive interest in streaming perks through the content itself by showcasing popular, trending TV shows and movies from each partner. The goal was to give customers a reason to want the perk while designing a system that could scale across partners, be maintained easily, and avoid requiring a custom build for every new piece of content.

Project approach

  1. 01

    Define the opportunity

Aligned on a brief focused on improving stagnant perk attachment.

  2. 02

    Design the component

Used existing design-system patterns to develop the initial concept and partnered with the Design System team to ensure the component was brand-aligned and could be integrated into the Perks page.

  3. 03

    Launch and measure

Shipped the experience and evaluated its performance against perk attachment.

  4. 04

    Scale to more partners

Performance supported the expansion of Trending Content to additional partners, including FOX One and Apple One.

  5. 05

    Operationalize refreshes

Established a monthly process for updating content and validating partner assets against component guidelines.

The system

Building a repeatable system

Each partner supplied promotional imagery in different formats, so the experience needed both a reusable component and a repeatable production process. I designed the component from scratch around a 2:1 content tile with a fixed 3:1 promotional-image area and defined content-safe zones. I then partnered with the Design System team to align the component with existing patterns and integrate it into the Perks page.

To support monthly refreshes, I standardized how partner assets were cropped, resized, approved, named, and uploaded to Adobe Dynamic Media Classic. Engineering used the naming convention to retrieve the correct asset automatically. Together, the component and production process allowed the experience to scale to 7+ partners without requiring a custom design or engineering cycle for each refresh.

Content refresh process

  1. 01

    Receive assets from streaming partners

  2. 02

Adapt artwork to the component specifications

  3. 03

Return the adapted artwork for partner approval

  4. 04

Upload approved assets to Adobe Dynamic Media Classic

  5. 05

    Engineering publishes the content update

A reusable component and a repeatable process

The component and process developed with the Design System team continue to support new partner onboarding and monthly content refreshes without requiring a new design cycle.
